Good morning,
The Government of Saskatchewan is offering an additional opportunity for licensed hunters this fall: a short-term antlerless elk season in the southern half of the province, running from November 20 to 27, 2025. This season is designed to address the concerns raised by landowners and agricultural producers about the high number of elk in agricultural zones.
The program’s success rests with landowners granting access to their land. Please encourage your constituents – especially those producers who have been impacted by wildlife damage – to post signage on their property with their contact information so interested hunters can get in touch with them.

License Information:
- Antlerless elk licenses will be available starting November 3 for $30 (including GST).
- License holders will be required to select one wildlife management zone to hunt in.
- Hunters who were successful in the regular Big Game Draw may also purchase this license.
- Licenses can be purchased quickly and easily online through the Hunting, Angling and Trapping License (HAL) system. They will also be available at Government of Saskatchewan field offices with front counter service.
