The Government of Saskatchewan is conducting a review of legislation related to trespassing in Saskatchewan to determine if changes are necessary. The review will determine if amendments are required to consolidate the approach taken in existing legislation and better address the appropriate balance between rural landowners and members of the public.
The provincial government wants feedback on the following questions:
- Should Saskatchewan legislation provide that all access by members of the public to rural property requires the prior express permission of the rural land owner or occupier regardless of the activity and failure to secure that consent constitutes an offence?
- If so, how should such permission be sought and granted?
